Young americans don't ask for help
A recent study shows that 7,000,000 Americans aged 18 to 25 need help for drug or alcoohol abuse. 93% of them did not get the help they needed. 96% of those did not perceive they needed help. And only one third of that slim 4 % took a step to get help. The research was based on home interviews : 8% had a drug problem and 17 % an alcohol problem, based on DSM4R definitions. access to Medicaid or CHIP triples participation to a detox program.
